Hotels in Bhutan
Hotel Phuntsho Pelri interior.
The hotels we visited in Bhutan were unique, and provided breath-taking views from the balconies in our rooms. All the hotels we stayed at provided a type of cooling, fans, AC, or windows that open. The country is very cool most of the time, with a nice breeze coming off the mountains. There is little need for an AC when opening the window provides, fresh, cool air all night.
The showers and restrooms are modern and have western toilets. Everything is cleaned before the room is used and fresh towels can be provided daily. The rooms are very comfortable, and the facilities in the hotels can include, but are not limited to, Spas, restaurants, hair salons, gift shops, TV rooms, internet rooms, and much more. It depends on where you stay what facilities are available, so if there is something you cannot live without, be sure to tell your travel agency about it before the trip, so they can book the appropriate hotels, though you may find that you spend more time looking out the window than using these facilities.
The hotel staff will be able to speak English, as it is the second language of the country and they receive many English language speakers throughout the year. If you have any troubles, you should be able to ask the staff for help in English if you can use the language. If not, you can call your tour guide and ask them for help or to translate for the staff. When bringing electronics, be sure to have a power adapter, as many of the power outlets may not match with your electronic devices. The hotel may have an adapter available if you ask.
All the hotels will have a restaurant and a common area with couches. You should tell the hotel staff beforehand when you would like to eat breakfast and dinner, so they can have it ready for you when you come down. This way you do not have to wait for your meal, it is ready when you arrive!
